Lesson Plan Artifact ~ This is a two part lesson that was created using different teaching strategies. I tried to encompass the idea of using extensions, refinement, and application while keeping in mind the three physical education domains. This artifact was used to demonstrate Competency #1. Curriculum Guides Artifact ~ This is a photo of the two curriculum guides that I explored from my district. One was a K-6 physical education guide and the other was a 6-12 guide. I was impressed by the amount of information contained in the guides and how they are used to facilitate instruction. This artifact was used to demonstrate Competency #2.
Video -- Sink the Ship Artifact ~ This artifact was a lesson that was taught to a second grade class. The class lasted forty minutes, but a lot can be observed through this artifact. That is why it encompasses so many of the comptencies. A hard copy of this video was submitted due to the large file size. This video may take 15-30 minutes to download. The artifact demonstrates Competency #3, Competency #4, and Competency #6.
Self Assessment Artifact ~ This artifact is a self-assessment that students were given, following the Sink the Ship lesson. It is one example of many different forms of assessment that I understand, implement, and use. This artifact demonstrates Competency #5.
Action Research Project Artifact ~ This artifact was created through the research that was conducted pertaining to perceived levels of stress, physical well-being, and exercise. I conducted the research at my school with the help of my colleagues. The artifact demonstrates Competency #7 and Competency #8. This was created in Microsoft Word and should be opened as a word document.
Interview with Jerry Smith Artifact ~ This artifact was created following an interview with my mentor Jerry Smith. I recorded the interview. I have submitted a hard copy as this is a large file to download. It is possible that this download could take sixty minutes to complete. The artifact demonstrates Competency #9.
